Antalya is one of the top holiday cities/towns in Turkey. This largest city of the Mediterranean region, as well as being one of bigger cities In Turkey, is well maintained with attractive shady palm lined boulevards, a cozy marina and Kaleici, the picturesque old town. This unique historical area is located in the heart of the city with narrow winding streets and wooden houses surrounded by ancient walls.

There is lots to do in and around Antalya, and it's one of the few cities along the coast where you can ski in the mountains and go to a beach to have a swim in the warm sea water the same day. Köprüçay Canyon, a world-class rafting spot is just 95 km from Antalya. Every day approximately 2,500 people experience the force of the river on an inflatable boat.

In the Aksu district of Antalya, another river attarction Kurşunlu Falls strongly reminds a tropical rainforest waterfall with it's picturesque pond, varieties of birds, rare plant specimens and several visual delights. Cacti, plant tunnels, water-saturated huge sycamore trees, the soothing sound of water.. Kurşunlu Falls is definitely a great spot to do a day trip while in Antalya.

The Ancient Antalya

If you're interested in history and culture, Antalya is sure something you find fascinating as evidence shows that the town area has had inhabitants all the way 50000 years back. Thus there is quite a bit of culture and ancient spots to explore in the Antalya area.


As Kaleici - the old town, is a reminder from the more modern Ottoman era, Antalya boasts many sites dating back thousands of years. The most well known attractions in this league are the ruins of Hadrian's Gate, ancient cities of Ariassos, Perge, Termessos (high up the Taurus mountains) and Aspendos, with it's well-known and preserved outdoor theatre. More close to the city is the Karaalioğlu Park, with an ancient fortress called Hıdırlık Tower. City Museum is also popular in this range, close to town and easy reach by tram.
