Belek is the paradise of Golf. Belek was before 1984 a small region inhabited by farmers with no connection or interest to the sea. Beleks natural beauty was discovered in 1984 by the Tourism ministry who found the region to be ” A truly paradise for tourists” on the shore of the Mediterranean in the midst of its own pine forests.

The region was proclaimed the "Belek Tourism Center". In later years, Belek became what it is today, a golfers dream on earth, thanks to cooperation between the Belek Tourism Investors Association and the Tourism Ministry.

Belek is today one of the most important centers of Turkey's tourism industry and is as such home to more than thirty four-star and five-star hotels and many other accommodation, services and entertainment facilities.

Belek is the golf center of Turkey and is said to be one of the top golfing destinations in Europe. In 2012 it became the host of the biggest golf tournament ever to take place in Turkey, the Turkish Airlines World Golf Final. Belek is a township with own municipality in Serik district in Turkey's Antalya Province. The local population varies between low and high season but compared to other places , Belek is always the calmer, the quiter the cosier area to live in. This is not a place for party animals, but if you want to give your soul a non stress boost and play golf, swim in the blue waters with white sandy beaches, eat well and just be- than it would be right for you.

Other excursions

If golf does not take up your entire time than there is also other things you can enjoy yourself. Some of our recommendations are The Kurşunlu Waterfall with over than over 100 bird species living by this natural wonder. Also take your time to visit the popular hidden cave at the back of the waterfall . For historical sights there is the Hellenistic city of Perge, which is rated second after Ephesus. The Roman ruins at Perge are some of the best preserved archaeological sites in Turkey.

The great amphitheater of ancient Aspendos that today can hold over 20.000 spectators still hosts open- air classical, ballet and opera festivals today.
